Shock News As ZIFA Assembly Wants Four Teams Relegated

Shock news this weekend was that the ZIFA Assembly has resolved to promote four teams from the first division at the end of this season, meaning that four teams will be relegated from PSL, not two.

A ZIFA Assembly in 2015 made a resolution that starting this year, 2016 they would relegate two teams instead of four, but on Saturday the Assembly reversed that decision.

This development means Tsholotsho and Mutare City who were still fighting for survival have been relegated while Chapungu are now in the relegation zone, four points away from safety, with two games to go.

The PSL were outvoted, having 16 seats on Zifa Assembly. One reason given for the majority voting to relegate four teams was that the PSL was unwilling to fund the play-offs...

The Star FM Sports team tackles the issue on the Monday edition of their premier weekday radio Sports show the Daily SportsZone.
