Shabanie Mine To Be Summoned Over Violent Conduct

The Central Region Soccer League Division 1 executive committee will summon Shabanie Mine management over violent conduct of their fans.

Central Region Soccer League chairman Stanley Chapeta said they have realised that Shabanie Mine needs help to manage their fans after they have been involved in a series of violent clashes with opposite fans.

“We don’t like violence and we are going to sit with Shabanie Mine executive on Sunday so that we get to hear why they are the ones involved in most violent acts in the region. We will also take the opportunity to come up with ways how we can help them solve this violent tendency among their fans,” said Chapeta.

“Shabanie are not the only team that we are going to look at but we are going to review all the violent cases reported to us during the course of the league. We want football to remain a family sport in the region and we will work towards eradicating violence in the region as well as attract sponsorship,” added Chapeta.

Shabanie Mine fans became violent last weekend stoning a Midlands State University team bus, after their team surrendered a one goal lead to draw the match one all and drop two points behind log leaders Blanket Mine.

Shabanie Mine supporters were in recent weeks involved in running battles with supporters on Shurugwi based Nichrut.

The Chinda Boys are tussling for the Central Soccer League title with Gwanda based Blanket Mine.
