Sadomba's Monday Double Puts Al Hilal On Brink
FORMER Dynamos star Edward Sadomba scored twice and created the other as his Sudanese side Al Hilal posted an emphatic 3-0 victory over Merreikh El-Fasher on Monday.
The win left Sadomba’s side just three points away from the league title and the Zimbabwean speedster with a return of 10 goals from 11 outings.
Al Hilal are on 74 points, six ahead of second placed El Merreikh, despite having played two games less than their fierce rivals.
A recapture of a title they last won in 2014 looks very much possible.
A thrilled Sadomba told SportsZone that the result was not a true reflection of how the match panned out.
“A 3-0 win may make some believe that this was a stroll in the park but it was far from that. We were playing away, El-Fasher are always difficult to break down so we had to dig deep in order to get the win.
“We are close to recapturing the league title but we are not taking anything for granted. It’s still game on,” he said.
Sadomba, who turned 33 on August 31, enjoys iconic status at Al Hilal and his rich goal return, following a midseason move back to the club, looks set to cement that status.
