Sables To Play Poland
The Zimbabwe senior national rugby side is set to play Poland next year as part of the Sables preparations for the Africa Cup 2018 tournament that will serve as the World Cup qualifier.
This could be a huge breakthrough for the Sables who have been starved of preparation and game time before any major tournament but the new board that was elected a couple of months ago has promised more for local rugby.
“With two months into office we are running around to make sure that the Sables get enough preparation for the coming Africa Cup,” said Zimbabwe Rugby Union vice-president Nody Kanyangarara.
“Obviously now this Africa Cup is out of the way and but I am happy to say that we have engaged Poland and they will be coming into Zimbabwe on the third of February (2017).
So that will be the start of many of the matches we will play before the next International season in 2017,” added Kanyangarara.
But it is not going to be easy for Zimbabwe if they are to be part of the Africa Cup 2018 teams and the Sables will have to win their game against Uganda next weekend at the Police Grounds.
