Ronaldinho Expected In Zimbabwe
One of the greatest footballers of all time and arguably the best ball artist the world has ever seen Ronaldinho of Brazil is expected in Zimbabwe in November as part of the Barcelona legends team set to play either the Warriors or the country’s football legends at the National Sports.
Also expected to feature in that historic day are 2002 World Cup winner with Brazil Rivaldo, Mendieta and Edmilson.
This was revealed during Friday’s meetings between Zimbabwe’s Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the trio of ex Barca players Patrick Kluivert, Edgar Davids and Rayco Garcia who are touring the Southern African nation as guest of Minister of Sport Makhosini Hlongwane.
The trio is in Zimbabwe until Tuesday.
Kluivert, who won the UEFA Champions League with Ajax as an 18-year-old back in 1995, said the match was important for Zimbabwe.
“We did a lot of games in Africa and it was a great success. Regarding this match, if Barcelona Legends can play the warriors or legends of Zimbabwe, it will give Zimbabwe a very good day and it is essential to have the game played in one of the most beautiful stadium.
“We visited the National Sports Stadium this morning (Friday) and if we can bring 60 000 into the stadium with the best coverage that we can have for the game, I think that is very essential for Zimbabwe,” said Kluivert.
