Reports: Neymar Accepts Offer To Leave Barca

FC Barcelona superstar Neymar has reportedly accepted an offer from Paris Saint-Germain after seemingly growing unhappy at being in Lionel Messi's shadow.

The French giants are apparently prepared to pay the 24-year-old's massive €222 million release clause, as reported by Brazilian journalist Marcelo Bechler.

Neymar's potential move to PSG is expected to be made official in the next two weeks, according to Esporte Interactivo's Bechler.

The skilful winger reportedly wants to become the main star at another club and prove he can rival current teammate Messi for the biggest individual accolades.

Neymar finished third in the running for the 2016 FIFA The Best Men’s Player award, behind Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and many feel he has to leave the Catalan giants to overtake his teammate and the Portuguese.

A potential €222 million deal would more than double the current world transfer record belonging to Paul Pogba, when he joined Manchester United for €105 million last season.

Neymar has made 186 appearances for the Blaugrana since joining the club for €88.2 million in 2013, scoring 105 goals and assisting another 80 strikes, and lifting nine trophies along the way.
