Relief For Mutasa As Dynamos Get First Win

Dynamos beat fellow strugglers Bulawayo City 2-1 at Rufaro Stadium to earn their first win of the 2018 season following four losses and three draws in their opening seven matches.

James Marufu and fellow defensive midfielder Blessing Moyo gave Dembare the win with Crispen Ncube scoring for the visitors.

Ishmael Wadi blew City’s golden opportunity in the second minute as he failed to convert a penalty awarded in the first minute following a handball by Blessing Moyo in the area.

The Darlington Dodo coached Bulawayo City continued with their blistering start as they followed up the penalty with three clear chances but wasted all of them.

Emmanuel Mandiranga then failed to punish the wasteful Amakhosi as he shot weakly at Wellington Muuya in gaol for City in Dynamos first chance on the goal.

Dynamos could have gone to the halftime break leading but Panashe Mtasa skied his effort from inside the box after being fed by Kudzanayi Dhemere on the stroke of halftime.

Former Ngezi midfielder James Marufu then put Dembare ahead halfway in the second stanza but the lead lasted just a few seconds as Crispen Ncube latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the six-yard box after Dynamos keeper Tonderayi Mateyaungwa had punched a goal-bound Clive Rupiya effort back into the play.

Blessing Moyo who had some jitters in the opening ten minutes then struck the winner for Dynamos eleven minutes to full time from a freekick just outside the box after Marufu had gone done under a challenge from Tatenda Tavengwa.

Elsewhere, Delic Murimba, Lameck Nhamo and Phineas Bamus scored for Triangle before Philip Marufu scored a consolation goal as Triangle beat Chapungu 3-1 at Gibbo Stadium.
