Second half substitute Quality Kangadze ensured Dynamos remain in the title hunt as they edged a battling Chapungu 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The win keeps Dembare two points behind leaders Ngezi Platinum who also won 1-0 away to Bantu Rovers at Luveve Stadium.

Dynamos had toiled the whole afternoon but failed to break down a stubborn Chapungu defence. Masimba Mambare had their best chance at the beginning of the second half but he failed to punish Chapungu with an open net yawning in front of him after a blunder by Roy Mazingi in goal for the Airmen.

There was Drama late in the second half when Dynamos Goalkeepers coach Zondai Nyaugwa went to the Chapungu goal area and poured some liquid behind it and a Chapungu official rushed after him in an attempt to remove the substance that he had allegedly left behind the goal area.

Kangadze who had replaced Mambare in the second half was the hero of the day for Dembare as he connected well with an Epoupa cross with a superb diving header beating Roy Mazingi in goal for Chapungu to sent anxious Dynamos fans into delirium as their team kept pressure on leaders Ngezi and FC Platinum who are two points ahead going into the last three rounds of games.

At Luveve, Donald Teguru scored the solitary goal as Ngezi Platinum Stars beat Bantu Rovers 1-0 to regain top spot ahead of Fc Platinum on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Hwange boosted their chances of surviving relegation with an emphatic 3-0 win over Highlanders at the Colliery Stadium. Delic Murimba, Justine Kaunda and Collen Muleya got the goals for Chipangano.

Harare City found the going tough at Gibbo Stadium in the South East Lowveld going down 2-1 to Triangle. The Sugar Boys went ahead on the hour mark as Martin Vengesayi turned a Russel Madamombe cross into his own net. Peace Tshuma equalized for the visitors moments later but Elfios Kamunda had the last say of the game as he scored the winner 20 minutes before the end.
