PSL To Act On Hooliganism

THE Premier Soccer League will on Friday host a workshop in Kadoma to come up with a Security Manual to be followed at all future PSL matches as the league’s chiefs move to curtail increasing violence and hooliganism in the top flight league.

Violence marred last weekend’s big clash between Ngezi Platinum and Dynamos at the Baobab which was forced into a lengthy stoppage at the 78th minute mark after DeMbare supporters invaded the pitch.

Dynamos fans claim that missiles that were thrown from outside the stadium forced them to flee into the pitch.

Recently, the Chibuku Super Cup quarter final between Shabanie Mine and Caps United was abandoned in the 65th minute after Makepekepe fans threw missiles one of which hit assistant referee Thomas Kusosa at Maglas inZvishavane.

“In a move to curtail violence and hooliganism the PSL will hold a Stakeholders Workshop with club chief executive officers, Security Officers, Chairpersons of Supporters Clubs, Heads of Private Security companies and senior ZRP Officers,” read a statement from the PSL.

The Workshop will be held at Kadoma Hotel and Conference Centre.
