PSL Reserves Judgement On Highlanders Fans Misconduct

The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has reserved the judgement in the matter involving Highlanders FC following a hearing that took place on Tuesday at the PSL offices.

Highlanders appeared before the league’s disciplinary committee over their fans’ conduct which caused the abandonment of a league match against Dynamos at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday 14 May.

Bosso fans protested against DeMbare’s equalizer which they argued was scored from an offside position by Cameroonian striker Christian Epoupa.

The schedule of offences included pitch invasion, missile throwing and violent conduct by their fans and Highlanders are being charged in terms of Order 31; Acts of misconduct/ offences, which says it’s an act of misconduct when supporters misbehave in any manner whatsoever, inside or outside a ground before, during or after a match, no matter on which ground the match is played.

According to a communique released by PSL Communications and Media liaison Officer Kudzai Bare, ‘the judgement will be released to relevant parties in due course’.

The explosive Castle Lager PSL flagship encounter was only played for 42 minutes before being called off due to crowd trouble.

Pitch invasion or missile throwing carries a $2 000 fine.
