Defending league champions FC Platinum conceded for the first time this season but were still good enough to inflict a first defeat of the season to Harare City at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane on Saturday.

Mkhokheli Dube put the platinum miners ahead after he reacted to a rebound after only three minutes into the second half.

Raymond Uchena equalised in the 62nd minute for City, only for FC Platinum to restore their lead a minute later through a former City player Edwin Madhananga.

The slightest of touches from Rodwell Chinyengetere off a goal bound corner kick from Ali Sadiki ensured that FC Platinum wrap up the points in the 73rd minute.

New Boys Herentals got their first of the season beating Bulawayo City 2-1 at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday. The students scored through William Kapumha and Aaron Chiwandamidzi, with Bulawayo City getting their only goal through Timothy January.

Elsewhre, Evans Chikwaikwai scored for the second week in a row after heading home a Takunda Sadiki corner kick in the 12th minute as Mutare City beat Bulawayo Chiefs 1-0 at Vengere Stadium in Rusape.
