PSL Clubs Interested In Charlton Mashumba
Jomo Cosmos forward Charlton Mashumba will not be moving down to the First Division with the club following interest from two PSL for his services.
Mashumba led the Cosmos attack this past season providing most of the goals and assists in their failed bid to remain afloat in topflight football.
Word reaching KickOff.com is that Jomo Sono is in agreement that the Zimbabwean striker deserves to remain playing in the PSL instead of heading back to the First Division.
Sono is only awaiting for the clubs that have shown interest to table their offers which will then pave the way for a move to happen.
The 23-year-old scored seven goals this past season, his first in the PSL after slamming 19 the previous year as Ezenkosi won promotion from the First Division.
Though he had a successful trial with Portuguese club CD Tondela last year the move eventually didn’t happen as Mashumba felt he wouldn’t get the respect he felt he deserved if he joined from a South African First Division club.
Mashumba is currently back home on national duty and is expected to lead The Warriors frontline at the COSAFA Castle Cup in Namibia from June 11-25. - Kickoff
