Premier Soccer League Goalie Dies
THE football fraternity has been plunged into mourning following the death of Chapungu goalkeeper Roy Stephen Mazingi.
He was 31.
Details are yet to come through but reports say he has been suffering from malaria for the past week.
Mazingi won the Chapungu Gloveman award in December last year after yet another sterling season for the airmen.
He was one of the most underrated goalies in the league and once turned out for Zvishavane miners Shabanie.
Mazingi was the best keeper, statistically, in the 2015 Castle Lager Premier League after he conceded 13 goals in 24 matches at an average of 0.54 per game.
Sadly he missed out on the calendar, with Elvis Chipezeze of Chicken Inn winning the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
