Pfumbidzai, Bamusi Sit Out Caps Training

CAPS UNITED star players Ronald Pfumbidzai and Phineas Bamusi sat out today’s (Thursday) training session at the National Sports while Tafadzwa Rusike had an injury scare towards the end of the workout.

Pfumbidzai, who also missed the ZNA Charities Shield semi final win against Dynamos last Sunday has a knee problem while livewire winger Bamusi is nursing an ankle injury.

Caps United are preparing for next week’s CAF Champions League first round first leg away to DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.

Veteran striker Leonard Tsipa, who is not registered in Africa, was also not very active in the drills as Chitembwe thrust Abbas Amidu as the main striker.

“I can say that Ronnie (Pfumbidzai) and Bamusi are at 75 percent fitness so we didn’t want to risk them. As for Tsipa, he is not registered in the CAF competition so he was not much involved today,” said Chitembwe.

The gaffer played Simba Nhivi and Rusike with Ronald Chitiyo playing just behind Amidu in some of the drills.

Cabby Kamhapa was showing some flashes of brilliance proving why some are already touting him for a first team jersey.

Also active at today’s training were skipper Moses Muchenje, Devon Chafa, Hardlife Zvirekwi, Dennis Dauda, Valentine Musarurwa, Joel Ngodzo, and keeper Edmore Sibanda.

Zvikomborero Bizeki, Jorum Muchambo, Last Sithole and Carlton Munzabwa were also present.
