Pamplemousses In Town

Pamplemousses of Mauritius have demonstrated they mean serious business in the CAF Confederation Cup as the Indian Ocean islanders have travelled early in order to acclaimatize to the Zimbabwean conditions ahead of the return leg of the Preliminary round tie against newboys Ngezi Platinum Stars.

The Mauritians arrived on Wednesday afternoon, three days before the match scheduled for the National Sports Stadium this Saturday.

The match was originally marked for Baobab but authorities at CAF asked the platinum miners to look for alternative venue since there are no hotel facilities meeting the requirements within the Ngezi radius.

However, Tonderai Ndirya’s men who have since begun camp at the ZESA Training Centre in Harare are buoyant after getting an away goal in the 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.

Captain Liberty Chakoroma was on target from the penalty spot after Kelvin Bulaji was fouled in the box. Pamplemousse then equalised ten minutes before the breather through Jean Fabrini who capitalised on a defensive mix-up by Ngezi.
