Ovidy Karuru Officially Joins Amazulu
Former Zimbabwe international midfielder Ovidy Karuru has officially joined Joey Antipas’ National First Division side AmaZulu on a one-and-a-half year deal.
The former Kaizer Chiefs player has been training with the Durban-based NFD side, as recently reported on the Soccer Laduma website.
AmaZulu head coach Antipas is familiar with the 28-year-old Karuru, with whom he worked with at the national team when the former Motor Action gaffer was still Warriors assistant.
“Ovidy is a very deceptive type of player. He’s a goal scoring midfielder who can operate from both flanks as well as from the centre of the park.
“I believe he can give us another dimension in play and he’s also a very creative type of player. I worked with him in the national team before. He’s also played in Europe, in France. He will add depth into the team,” Antipas told AmaZulu's website.
As confirmed by Usuthu, the other signings made recently are Phumlani Gumede, Stephen Mukatuka and Menzi Ndwandwe.
