OGs Prepare For Gold Cup Action

GRANT Mitchell, the Old Georgians coach, has described each of their upcoming South African Club Gold Cup fixtures as a final.

Old Georgians are representing Zimbabwe for the second successive time in the Gold Cup having earned qualification by virtue of being log leaders in the InterCity Rugby League by the mid-season.

Old Georgians’ Gold Cup campaign gets underway this Saturday with a home clash against Raiders in Harare before travelling to Limpopo on September 16 for a clash against Northam Rhinos.

On September 23, Old Georgians will be back home for a date with QBR and will round up their group stage action with an away trip to Vaal Reefs in Orkney on September 30.

“Every fixture in the Gold Cup is a final,” Mitchell told Sportszone.

Mitchell’s charges have been hard at work and the gaffer has stressed out the need be perfect in their approach.

“The preparation and lead up, the intensity of the matches and the collective effort undertaken by the full squad and technical team has to be in point at all times,” he said.

Old Georgians Sports Club will play host to the locals’ home games.
