QUALIFICATION to the South African Club Gold Cup competition hits another notch with a full schedule of InterCity League games on the menu at Old Hararians Sports Club and Gweru Sports Club on Saturday.

According to Zimbabwe Rugby Union, the leading team on the ICL log standings by match day 11 will automatically secure a spot for the Club Gold Cup which has a confirmation deadline of July 31.

This means serious competition is expected in the remaining league games with much attention on thetop table clash between log leaders Old Georgians and impressive Mutare Sports Club (MSC) at Old Hararians.

Old Georgians, 39 points in eight games, appear to be on the right track to returning to the Gold Cup competition as they enjoy a 10-point cushion off MSC although the latter still has a game in hand.

There are opportunities for every team.Unbeaten Old Georgians have the chance to further extend their lead while MSC can do themselves and perhaps others a favour by stopping the pacesetters and open wide the race.

However, the rest of the chasing pack still has chance for the Club Gold Cup but they really have to take care of their respective businesses especially those that involve Old Georgians.
