Ocean, Mr Free Kick
DYNAMOS skipper and dead ball specialist Ocean Mushure says scoring free kicks is an inborn thing and is promising to take his skill to another level next season.
Mushure has scored five goals from set pieces and is expected to play a crucial role when DeMbare host Chicken Inn in a decisive last game of the season on Sunday.
Dynamos can win the league if they beat the Gamecocks and log leaders FC Platinum fail to beat Chapungu at Ascot.
And in Mushure, DeMbare have a proven match winner.
“It’s (scoring free kicks) an in-born thing. I wasn’t taught by anyone to take those free kicks. It’s something that is in me,” said Mushure.
“That’s why at Dynamos they did not vote for me to take the free kicks. The surprising thing is that I didn’t do any special practice to perfect my skill.
“It’s something that is in me. I have been doing this since my primary school days with almost the same precision.”
Mushure has scored a total of nine league goals and is DeMbare’s second leading score behind Christian Joel Epoupa who has 13.
