Nyikadzino Fired, Masomere Linked With Chapungu Job
Former Chapungu coach, John Nyikadzino, cherishes the years he spent at the air force side and insists it his was his personal decision to quit Waru Waru last Monday.
“It was my personal decision. I really appreciate the opportunity that I got to coach Chapungu FC,” Nyikadzino told SportsZone on Thursday.
Luke Masomere whose contract with relegated Border Strikers expired on November 30 is already being linked with the Chapungu job.
It is widely believed that Nyikadzino, who spent three Premiership seasons as Chapungu coach, having also guided the air force side back into the top flight in 2014, was forced out after the Gweru based side finished the season on 13th position.
As it stands, Chapungu are not safe from relegation as the PSL and ZIFA are still over the number of teams that will face the chop.
Nyikadzino becomes the first casualty in the post season era.
The PSL insists two teams should go down but ZIFA are adamant all the four Division One regional winners should gain automatic entry into the flight.
