Nyanga Talent Charms Stewart Murisa

FORMER CAPS United, Highlanders and Dynamos star Stewart Murisa was impressed with the level of talent he witnessed in the Manicaland province last weekend.

The 1996 Soccer Star of the Year graced the Nyanga is Supa Foundation Sports Tournament which was held at Nyanga Country Club on Sunday.

Murisa who together with Bunjira were part of the scouts that were invited for the annual sports fiesta, believes there is a lot of potential in the area.

Several teams took part in soccer, netball, darts and volleyball in the third edition of the tournament.

Murisa said he was impressed with the level of competition he witnessed and is hopeful that one day a top player will emerge from the area.

“I was impressed with the level of competitiveness especially in men’s soccer where the teams show a great level of organization,” said Murisa.

“There is real talent here and I hope one day we will have a good player emerging especially if we continue to have sports tournaments of this magnitude.

“As former players we are happy to be part of these events so that we encourage upcoming players.

“We have witnessed payers who have passion for the game and it is my hope that they continue with the spirit and one day you never know we may find a gem of a player,” said Murisa.
