NRSL: Car Prize Still There
WILLARD Manyengavana, the Northern Region Soccer League chairman, says the 2017 Soccer Star will get a motor vehicle as the prize.

Manyengavana assured NRSL stakeholders that awarding the Soccer Star of the Year with a car is standard practice. This means the winner of this year’s award will leave the awarding ceremony driving.
“The Soccer Star will be given a car. The car prize is still there. We must give the best valuable car so we will try to maintain that,” Manyengavana told H-Metro.
The NRSL will convene on November 4 to shortlist its list of Soccer Stars from where the best player for 2017 will be chosen from.
Manyengavana added they are working flat out to put prizes in place for other categories set to be won on the night. He believes giving away awards and prizes will increase competition in the league.
“The idea is to make sure we remain competitive. So if you incentivize your players there will be no competition.
“We would want to reward the top goal scorer, we are looking at it but we will make sure he gets something,” he said.
In the past seasons, the NRSL has given away three cars to Soccer Stars in Zivanai Mhanda, Evans Katema and Hebert Rusawo.
