No Getting Sentimental With DeMbare - Bambo

Moses “Bambo” Chunga returns to Rufaro Stadium on Saturday – this time as Harare City coach against former paymasters Dynamos in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash.

Hailed at Dynamos for being one of the greatest players ever o don the blue and white colours of the Glamor Boys, Chunga leads Harare City into battle against a side that has been underperforming, but he says he will not play villains nor will he be sentimental to DeMbare.

“It feels great to be back at the (ceremonial) home of football in Zimbabwe after one and a half years,” said Chunga

“That sentimental feeling will be put aside. Being second best is not for me and we don’t talk about losing at Harare City.

“When joined Dynamos my brother was already there and we played against each other. He would come into contact (with me) with a raised boot because I was in a different team. SO I understand and know which side of my bread is buttered.”

Chunga replaced Taurai Mangwiro as City coach three weeks ago and has a 100 percent record following wins over Ngezi Platinum and Bulawayo City both on the road and Saturday’s encounter against Dynamos will be his first at home.

His two wins came while three of the Harare City players and assistant coach were away on national duty with the Warriors and he reveals he has had a tough time at training since the return of the trio.

Defender Blessing Moyo, and the midfield duo of Raphael Manuvire and Farai Madhanhanga were away with the Warriors together with assistant coach Mkhupali Masuku.

“Preparations have been going on well but this has been the most difficult week at Harare City for me so far because of selection headaches. There has been a lot of competition but I will settle for those who we believe will be able to do the duty.”

He, however, was evasive and refused to disclose who he will play.

“I am not sure which players I will choose as yet. I still have the rest of today, tomorrow and Saturday morning,” he said.
