Ngezi's Tricky Match
DYNAMOS assistant coach Biggie Zuze will be hoping that his former club Triangle will do them a favour and stop Ngezi Platinum at Gibbo on Sunday.
DeMbare will rise to the summit if they beat Chicken Inn at Barbourfields while Ngezi Platinum fall on the same day.
Speaking to Sportszone on Thursday, Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderai Ndiraya admitted that they will find life difficult in the lowveld.
After dismissing FC Platinum in the last game, Ngezi Platinum are however confident that they have what it takes to produce results under difficult circumstances to keep DeMbare and the rest of the chasing teams at bay.
“It is a very tricky fixture for us and the most challenging part will be to try and deal with the difficult journey to the lowveld and be able to deal with the physical demands of the game. Those are issues we need to deal with and then apply ourselves well to try and come up with a result,” Ndiraya said.
Ngezi Platinum are on 31 points at the top, second-placed Dynamos are on 29 points.
Black Rhinos, Chicken Inn and Highlanders are all on 28 points occupying position three, four and five on the log.
Ndiraya is aware that any slip up could be costly on their part.
“We have been on top for many weeks now and we would want to remain there. It is important for us therefore to try and get a result against an opponent that has always been very difficult to deal with.”
Ngezi are battling with injuries.
“Patson Jaure is still out, Dzvukamanja is also injured and Edgar Tapera has not yet recovered.
“We happy with the depth we have so far and we should be able to cope playing Triangle in the same way we did against FC Platinum,” said the coach.
Ndiraya will be banking on Donald Teguru to come to the party again. They have also managed to do without Liberty Chakoroma and goalie Mawaya who are with the Warriors in South Africa for the Cosafa Castle Cup.
“We have a lot of depth in Chakoroma’s position. Dominic Mukandi and Xolisani Moyo started against FC Platinum and they did very well. Remember we also have Walter Mukanga who plays the same position but he is yet to recover from injury as well,” Ndiraya said.
