Ngezi Platinum Continue With Transformation…As CAPS Close GAP On FC Platinum

Ngezi platinum continued their transformation under Tonderai Ndiraya after they beat Chicken 2-1 to move into fifth position. Goals from Donald Teguru and Washington Pakamisa ensured the platinum miners are within striking distance for the league title since Dynamos went on a similar run in 2011 and went on to win the title. 

Log leaders FC Platinum dropped two crucial points at home in a 1-1 draw against Hwange. Midfielder Nqobizitha Masuku Nqobizitha Masuku put FC Platinum in the front 29 minutes into the game but Hwange were awarded a penalty after Elvis Moyo had handled in the box. Veteran Gilbert Zulu scored to make sure the points were shared.

Chungwa celebrates goal against Highlanders

Dominic Chungwa was the hero once again as CAPS United closed the gap on log leaders FC Platinum with a 1-0 win over Tsholotsho. Chungwa scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute. The burly striker who has attracted attention of South African division 1 side Black Leopards was on target again for Caps United over the weekend when they edged Highlanders by a solitary goal.
 
At Rufaro stadium goals by Crispen Dickson and Martin Vengesayi handed Harare City a 2-0 win over ZPC Kariba. The win was a huge relief to Coach Moses Chunga who had gone on a number of matches without a win.

Its however still gloomy for ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa who has failed to collect maximum points against his former players turned coaches having drawn against Lloyd Mutasa’s Dynamos and lost to Ndiraya’s Ngezi Platinum.

Elsewhere, Chapungu needed a luck own goal from Triangle defender Donald Dzvinyai to win the tie 1-0. 

Emmanuel Mandiranga was on target at Dulivhadzimu stadium when Bulawayo City beat Border Strikers 1-0 in a match marred by allegations of match fixing. Bulawayo City assistant coach Farai Mujokoro is accused of having tried to bribe Strikers goalkeeper Talent Sande to fix the match.
