Ngezi On Top
Ngezi Platinum Stars shot to the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League log standings after beating How Mine 2-0 at the Baobab on Saturday.
On fire Terrence Dzukamanja scored a brace as Madamburo maintained a 100 per cent start.
Ngezi are yet to concede a goal having beaten Black Rhinos 1-0 on Match Day One of the 2017 season before thumping Hwange 3-0 at the Colliery last weekend.
After a goalless first half, Madamburo upped the tempo in the second stanza and found the opener in the 65th minute when Dzukamanja beat How Mine keeper Donovan Bernard.
Dzukamanja scored his second in the 89th minute.
“I thought it was a well deserved win and my boys gave it their all today (yesterday),” Ngezi coach Ndiraya said.
Ndiraya is enjoying himself in Mhondoro but the same cannot be said of How Mine coach Kelvin Kaindu who is yet to register a win in three matches.
“We knew they (Ngezi) would be strong at home, they have the support and they are a good team,” said Kaindu.
Meanhwile, Hwange beat Chapungu 2-1 at Ascot.
