New Bosso CEO Unveiled
FORMER Highlanders secretary general, Nhlanhla Bahlangene Dube has returned to the club, this time around as the new chief executive officer.
Dube was unveiled by Bosso acting chairman, Modern Ngwenya at a press conference held at the Highlanders offices on Wednesday. Dube takes over a position that was left vacant by the departure of veteran administrator Ndumiso Gumede at the end of last year.
Ngwenya said Dube is joining the club on a renewable two year contract with the crucial period being the first three months. He believes that if Dube does well, they would not be any reason not to renew his deal.
“The duration of the contract is two years renewable, if the CEO has done extremely well there won’t be any reason to look for another CEO but to renew his contract. We shall do a cost benefit analysis after the three months probationary period we will see where we are going,’’ said Ngwenya.
Dube pointed out that he cannot be judged on winning the championship as that is the duty of the coach. His priority, he outlined, is to put in place structures to ensure that the club succeeds.
“Creating any academy and making sure that academy runs. Making sure that our facilities are football friendly, making sure that we have got adequate playing staff. My responsibility and success is seen through the success of others, mine is team leadership, equipping the club to move forward,’’ said Dube.
The 49-year old Dube is a University of Zimbabwe degree holder and is attained a Caf certificate in football administration as well as Caf diploma for football instructors. He was also the Bosso committee member from 2002 to 2003 prior to assuming the position of secretary general under the Kennedy Ndebele chairmanship from 2004 to 2006.
