Ndoro Plays Down Scoring Form
In-form Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro feels he has not reached the level he wants to be despite his ratio of a goal per game in eight league appearances this season.
The Zimbabwean is an early contender for the Golden Boot award this season but believes he needs to keep working hard after he scored the only goal in Pirates 1-0 victory over Free State Stars at Orlando Stadium last night.
“About the eight goals, I can't say I am already there but I will try to keep on scoring and try to convert all the chances that we are getting,” Ndoro said.
“Like today, we managed to create more chances and we've never created so many chances before in our previous games. But today we managed to get into the box and managed to get crosses. This is a sign of where we want to go and what we want to achieve.”
Ndoro also praised caretaker coach Augusto Palacios as he feels the squad has responded positively to the Peruvian's methods.
“I was a goalkeeper on Friday and that enjoyment refreshes your mind to be relaxed and not think too much,” Ndoro said.
“It is a brand new training method, we are feeling new. It is like the coach is giving us freedom to express ourselves. Every player wants to express himself when he is playing and we are happy about that.”
