Ndiraya Rules Out Immediate Dynamos Return

Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Tonderai Ndiraya says that he does not see himself returning to Dynamos in the near future.

Ndiraya led Dynamos to second place in the league last season, but he was not offered the job for the 2016 season, which has been a disappointing one for Dynamos.

He joined Ngezi Platinum Stars mid-season and has taken them to the final of the Chibuku Super Cup and steered them to a comfortable mid-table position in the league.

After beating Highlanders 1-0 on Sunday, Ndiraya said he will be with Ngezi Platinum for some time.

“How could I return to Dynamos now – I have a three-year contract which I'm only four months into. Even if Dynamos asked me to return next season it wouldn't be possible.

“For now I'm with Ngezi Platinum, but I wouldn't rule out rejoining Dynamos at some stage in the future.”

Ndiraya added that he's looking at making Ngezi Platinum a force to reckon with.

“We have a very good and exciting squad and at the end of the year we'll look at the areas where we need to beef up the squad.

“The future is so, so bright for Ngezi Platinum Stars. We would probably want to use next year for building up a very strong squad and then in our third season to go for the honours.”

Ngezi Platinum will qualify to play in Africa next year in the CAF Confederation Cup if they win the Chibuku Super Cup.

They will be guaranteed a place in the competition if FC Platinum win the league, as FC Platinum would take Zimbabwe's place in the CAF Champions League, handing the Confederation Cup slot to Ngezi Platinum.

But Ndiraya is not sure whether Ngezi Platinum would be ready to play in Africa.

“We would have to consider whether we are at that level yet, so we will talk about it if we do qualify,” he said.
