Ndiraya Aggrieved

Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderai Ndiraya was left an unhappy man after his team was denied what appeared to be two clear penalties in their 1-0 defeat to Harare City at Rufaro stadium on Saturday.

Ironically this was the second consecutive match that Harare City got a disputable victory after they beat Bulawayo City 2-1 with the help of a questionable penalty towards the end of the match.

Ndiraya, whose team is fast losing the steam, felt aggrieved when they were denied two penalties in the second half when Donald Teguru was pushed off the ball by Crispen Dickson and when Farai Madhananga handled inside the box.

“The referees are in charge, we can’t control that. I thought that what was a penalty and I don’t know what the referees think.  And I thought he was in the box,” said Ndiraya.

The Ngezi Platinum coach however tried to be diplomatic at the end, fearing that his comments might put him in jeopardy with the Premier Soccer League for complaining against officiating.

“But we can’t be in the position to blame the referees for that because we had our fair share of chances. I feel we had a lot of chances and could have wrapped the game up. We can’t continue talking about this game, it’s over, and we now have to focus on the next match.”

Harare City coach Moses Chunga was once again not pleased with his team’s performance despite winning the match.

“Yes we won but we didn’t play our normal game today because of many injuries and suspensions. If you look at some players like Ralph (Raphael) are not yet back at their best.

"We are lacking the steadiness in front of goal and the players are also timid inside the box," continued Chunga.

"Our normal game should be two goals and more because we have been playing in bits not to full potential.
