Nakamba Shines For Vitesse

WARRIORS’ central midfielder Marvelous Nakamba was on target as Vitesse Arnhem reached the fourth round of Netherlands’ top knockout competition KNVB Beker Cup on Wednesday night.

Nakamba scored the third goal in a 4-1 rout of lower league side RKC Waalwijk and immediately took to Face book to express his joy.

“Happy to get the Goal today #Cup game, now resting and Focusing on the Big Match #Saturday #Vitesse vs PSV,” he posted early Thursday.

The 22-year-old Zimbabwean international was given rave reviews by the Dutch media after the match and his splendid form should be sweet news for Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa as Zimbabwe braces for a third Afcon finals appearance.

Nakamba, Knowledge Musona and Cost Nhamoinesu are some of the key Warriors whose European football experience is expected to come in handy when Zimbabwe clash against Algeria, Senegal and Tunisia who all have a number players that are  based in Europe.

The Bantu Rovers product is fast transforming into a vital cog for Vitesse Arnhem and has played 90 minutes in all the club’s nine league games so far.

Meanwhile Musona played 72 minutes but could not find the back of the net when his Belgian club KV Oostende won 2-1 at Lokeren on Tuesday night to move into fifth position on the First Division League table.

Musona is the fourth top scorer in the Belgian First Division League with six goals, the leading scorer has two more than the Warriors striker.
