Knox Mutizwa has signed with Arrows on a permanent basis after a deal was struck with Bidvest Wits, having been on loan from the Clever Boys last season.

Wits signed the 23-year-old prior to the start of the last campaign but with competition for places very tough Mutizwa failed to make an appearance before being shipped off to KwaZulu-Natal at the halfway point of the season.

The former Highlanders striker proved to be a revelation for Arrows as he bagged five goals in 14 games and helped the side reach the top eight for the first time since 2009.

Speaking to Kickoff, Mtizwa was excited that he had finally joined Arrows on a permanent basis.

"I'm so happy that they [Arrows] managed to make me a permanent player and I want to repay them and I want to do my best. 

"At Wits it was tough and I was coming from Zimbabwe, I didn't know anything about South Africa but I must say I learnt something there [Wits] and I went to Arrows and it is one of those things."

Mutizwa adds that having two of his countrymen at Arrows - Danny Phiri and Kudakwashe Mahachi - made his decision to return to Arrows easier.

"I didn't think twice because I have my Zim boys and we're always together and it's nice to have your countrymen in the team," he added.

"Now that I'm an Arrows player I'm concentrating on Arrows with no more stress of loans and saying: 'eish, I'm going back to Wits and what, what.'

"So now I have to work hard and I have to do everything to impress Arrows' coaches and the bosses." 

Mutizwa will face his former club on Friday when Arrows face Gavin Hunt's Wits in the MTN8 quarter-finals at Bidvest Stadium.
