Mutasa wants win

DYNAMOS coach Lloyd Mutasa wants a first win at home Thursday afternoon to sway the Doubting Thomases among the Glamour Boys supporters into his corner when they host How Mine in a league match at the National Sports Stadium.
The former midfielder left the fans in suspense following the super performance by his newlook side in the Independence Cup success at the same venue last week.
But their league campaign is still on shaky ground following a slow start. DeMbare lost their first league match to FC Platinum at home and then drew away to Triangle.
The win at Hwange on Sunday has given the DeMbare faithful reason to trust Mutasa and his men and the coach is eager for the momentum to continue.
“It’s good we won our last match away at Hwange and like any other coach I would love to continue on the winning path. It feels good winning whether at home or away but with football anything can happen,” said Mutasa.
DeMbare however have not been freed from the curse of injuries as key players Denver Mukamba, Gift Saunyama and skipper Ocean Mushure are still out with knocks.
Mukamba and Mushure have been on light training but Saunyama looks like he would need more time to recover fully as he has not been able to train with the team.
He was joined on the sidelines by striker King Nasama who was on the receiving end of a nasty collision with teammate Tawanda Macheke during training.
“We need to have a consistent team but in football you meet these drawbacks. It’s quite sad that no one has managed to recover from our injured players. If anything, we have another player who has joined them on the sidelines.
“It’s a bit disturbing, though. When you think you have struck the right chords and then you are forced to tamper around with your team, not because the players are failing but because of situations like these which are beyond your control, it tends to affect the rhythm,” said Mutasa.
“It’s a blow but that is when the idea of registering 30 players come in. I am sure we have a big pool and it’s an opportunity for some players to show what they have to offer. It will demonstrate whether we have the depth or it’s just the numbers,” said Mutasa.
Like Dynamos, How Mine are also looking to prop up their campaign following a disappointing start.
Chikurupati have had a slow start that has seen them lose to ZPC Kariba and Ngezi Platinum Stars and playing a draw against Tsholotsho. However, Kaindu’s men registered their first victory of the season, beating Chapungu 2-1 at Luveve Stadium in their last match.
Despite their troubles, How Mine have a good squad boasting of players such as goalkeeper Donovan Bernard, Praise Tonha, Brian Mbiriri, Makundika Sakala, Tsepo Ranthokoane, Pasca Manhanga, Milton Ncube and Timothy January.
“I think we have been playing good football but it was unfortunate that the results were not coming our way. So we needed that win and I hope it will work in our favour in this match against Dynamos. But we know what Dynamos are capable of doing especially at home. So we do not expect an easy match,” said Kaindu.
Former Cchampions Chicken Inn will engage impressive Premiership returnees Black Rhinos at Luveve in a potential thriller.
