Mutasa Puts Destiny to God...As Dynamos Responds

Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa responded with a 2-0 win over Tsholotsho a day after the executive announced that his post was up for the taking following a spate of poor results.

Mutasa's assistant Murape Murape whom club president Kenny Mubaiwa announced was sacked on Tuesday, received a standing ovation from the fans before and after the match.

Mubaiwa said the club had sacked Murape and were also only waiting for a suitable candidate to take over from Mutasa in due course but sources say board chairman Bernard Marriot vetoed the decision allowing Murape to return to the dugout.

Takunda Sadiki broke the deadlock early in the first half with his first goal for the club since joining during the mid season transfer window before debutant Tawanda Macheke scored the second two minutes from full time after coming on for Sadiki.

A relieved Mutasa said he was not reading much into his impending sacking but will put his best for the club in the matches he is going to remain in charge.

“As a professional coach even if you know that you are going to be sacked tomorrow, you still have to put your best show. Of course we are feeling the pressure but football is a pressure game and every day we play under pressure," said Mutasa.

“We needed a response and we told the youngsters to play it simple without putting themselves under much pressure, they responded well and we managed to win this match which is very important for us going into the weekend match against FC Platinum."

Pacesetters FC Platinum and Caps United failed to increase the gap between them and the chasing pack after they were held in their matches.

Log leaders FC Platinum were held to a disappointing goalless draw away to Dulivhadzimo stadium by basement side Border Strikers while Caps United also played out a goalless draw against ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga stadium.

Triangle lifted themselves up into seventh position with a 2-1 win over Bulawayo City away from home.
