Mutare Face Uphill Task

Mutare Sports Club on Saturday host Harare giants Old Georgians in the final round of the regular Harare Province Rugby League games.

Winless Shumbas face a team from a different world when they take on the unbeaten former champions – who have amassed a massive 40 points so far.

MSC head coach, Mckenzie Munetsi knows they are faced with a near impossible task of beating Old Georgians.

He said the team needs to be more serious to set standards for next round of the season despite the previous defeats of the first round.

“We are facing a very tough challenge. I hope the team will learn a thing or two on the game.

“We have not been playing well during the season but we will not fold our hands and give them a free getaway.

“We are going to put a fight to the end. The boys are ready for the take-down on the day,” he added.

MSC chairman Josiah Borerwe added that it is high time the Shumbas should come to the party and start collecting points.

“We are expecting a change from the Shumbas game. It is high time the players should put their heads in the game. However, I would like to thank all our sponsors and stakeholders for being at our side in difficult times,” said Borerwe.

The match will mark the return of league action after a two-week break to pave way for the Confederation of African Rugby Africa Cup Division 1A match between the Sables (Zimbabwe 15s national side) and Kenya.
