Musona, Mushekwi Yet To Arrive

Belgian based Warriors ace Knowledge Musona and big striker Nyasha Mushekwi are the only two foreign based players yet to arrive for the national team camp.

Musona played for his club KV Oostende on Boxing Day and missed a penalty in his team’s first home loss of the season.

Both Musona and Mushekwi are expected later today (Wednesday).

Pasuwa has named a 31-man provisional squad for the 2017 Afcon qualifiers but he is expected to trim it to 23 by January 2.

Khama Billiat, Mathew Rusike, Marvellous Nakamba and South African ABSA Premiership top scorer Tendai Ndoro joined Costa Nhamoinesu who checked in on Tuesday.

Evans Rusike, Bruce Kangwa, Onismor Bhasera, Oscar Machapa, Danny Phiri, Kuda Mahachi, Cuthbert Malajila and skipper Willard Katsande are some of the foreign based players who are now in camp, according to Warriors team manager Sharif Mussa.

“We expect Musona and Mushekwi anytime Wednesday,” said Mussa.

Warriors assistant coach Saul Chaminuka is coordinating camp in the absence of head coach Kallisto Pasuwa who is on his way back from Ivory Coast where he led a second string national team to a 0-0 draw against the hosts on Boxing Day.

According to information gathered by SportsZone, the travelling Warriors are supposed to reach Ethiopia this evening before connecting to Harare where they are expected on Thursday.
