Mushure's Knee Again

Warriors’ skipper for the 2018 CHAN qualifiers Ocean Mushure has been ruled out Sunday’s second leg tie against Namibia due to a swollen ankle.

Yadah FC centre back Dennis Dauda will wear the armband when Zimbabwe play Namibia at the National Sports needing to win by at least two clear goals to overturn a 0-1 deficit they suffered in Windhoek last Sunday.

Mushure injured his knee when he landed awkwardly and the medical team had been working round the clock on the captain but Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa was forced to drop the Dynamos talisman.

Mushure has a nagging knee injury that football pundits feel has been hampering a move to foreign leagues.

Chidzambwa is however confident Zimbabwe will come out tops.

“I would rather say our first game in Namibia was the first half, we are now facing the second half and I think we are ready for battle,” Chidzambwa said.

Caps United star player Ronald Chitiyo is back for duty after missing the first leg due to a family problem while Chidzambwa has also added Highlanders’ Simon Munawa and Chicken Inn’s Innocent Mucheneka into the midfield.
