Muroiwa Vows To Bounce Back
FORMER Warriors centre back Elisha Muroiwa is hoping to rekindle his career at Harare City where he has signed a one-year contract.
Muroiwa joined the Sunshine Boys as a free agent after he was released by Tanzanian side Singida last December.
However, Muroiwa might not feature in Saturday’s league match against Bulawayo City at Rufaro as he is waiting for an international clearance.
The 29-year-old former Dynamos tough tackling defender began training with Harare City this week and spoke to SportsZone after Wednesday’s workout at the ZB Grounds in Vainona.
“I have settled well at Harare City, most of the players here I have played with them either at the PSL level or at the national team.
“Actually, I can use Harare City to get back to the top,” Muroiwa said.
“People misinterpret things and I know a lot has been said about my career but I prefer to keep quiet so that I don’t give myself any pressure.”
The former Twalumba defender had been linked with a move to Ngezi Platinum Stars but the deal fell through at the last stage.
Harare City skipper Tendai Samanja is also back in training for the Sunshine Boys who got a precious point against Caps United last Sunday.
“It’s good to be back but I think I still need some more time to gain fitness,” Samanja said.
The dreadlocked star central midfielder has been sidelined by an ankle injury.
It remains to be seen whether City coach Mark Harrison will immediately throw Samanja into the fray on Saturday.
