Mufakose United Fire Coaches
ALL is not well at Mufakose United as the executive has fired their coaching personnel ahead of the Northern Region Soccer League second round start.
Mufakose United resorted to sacking head David Kutyauripo and assistant coaches Conrad Nyambabvu and Godlin Mapisa after 17 games that have produced 22 points, five wins and seven draws.
Such statistics leave Mufakose United gazing at the relegation zone in spite of the heavily congested mid-table.
But the status quo is making the Mufakose United management sweat and panic hence kicking out the coaches responsible.
A statement released by Mufakose United chairman Noah Jonasi read:
“Mufakose United would like to announce that it has dismissed the entire technical team consisting of head coach David Kutyauripo, assistant coach Conrad Nyambabvu and second assistant Godlin Mapisa.
“The decision has been taken after a string of poor results which has seen the team drop from the 6th position to 13th position.”
Kutyauripo’s last supper was a 1-0 loss at log leaders Herentals.
However, the decision taken by Mufakose United would not surprise many as last month, club director Norman Chabata opened up about the rift that had developed between Kutyauripo and Nyambabvu.
The discord between the two coaches was suspected to be affecting Mufakose United’s performances and causing divisions among players hence it made Chabata fire warning shots.
Indications are that this might have been a contributing factor to the ultimate dismissal of Kutyauripo and Nyambabvu.
Jonasi added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team for their hard work and the cordial working relationship during the first half of the season. We wish them well in the future.”
Mufakose United are expected to subpoena an interim technical team that will be unveiled in due course but timeously for the return leg against Herentals at GMB Aspindale.
“The club will announce soon the caretaker coach whilst the search for the new coach goes on,” Jonasi said.
