Montpellier are set to up their bid for Mamelodi Sundowns winger Keagan Dolly in the coming days but still want to pay in instalments.

A number of publications in France claim Montpellier will up their bid to 1.5-million Euros, short of the 1.7-million Euros in Dolly’s contentious release clause in his contract at Chloorkop.

Montpellier are reportedly willing to offer ‘add-ons’ for appearances that could push the deal past the amount in the release clause.

However, KickOff.com understands Montpellier still want to pay over several months, a stance Sundowns owner Patrice Motsepe took issue with at a press conference on Monday.

“These European clubs want to pay us over 18 months, come on now,” Motsepe said.

“It’s unbelievable that when we want to buy a player, we have to pay the full price up front. But they [European clubs] want our players with subsidies. We shouldn't be in the business of subsidising rich European clubs.”

Greek side Olympiakos are also known to still be keen on Dolly’s signature and could better the offer made by the French club.

It was reported in Egyptian media this week that Cairo giants Al Ahly are also keen on Dolly, but they will not be able to match the fee, nor are they an attractive proposition for the Bafana Bafana midfielder.

Motsepe has stated that Sundowns will let the player leave if the release clause is met in full, and they could have that resolve tested soon.
