Minute Of Silence For Edzai As FC Platinum Finally Win
FC Platinum finally remembered how to win when they beat Tsholotsho 1-0 at Mandava on Saturday.
The win pushed FC Platinum to number four on the log with 25 points, three behind Ngezi Platinum and Chicken Inn who played a goalless draw at Luveve Stadium yesterday.
Former Hwange hitman Gift Mbweti scored his second goal of the season in the 3rd minute.
Rodwell Chinyengetere, Mbweti, Winston Mhango and Ian Nekati had a good afternoon in the Pure Platinum Play colours.
Tsholotsho keeper Chang Mariyon also made some saves that kept the score line decent.
“We did not play well in the second half. We played good football in the first half but I think it was all because pressure had crept into the boys following a series of draws.
“A win is a win. I hope the victory will turn the tables but we need to keep on working hard,” said FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza who also took the opportunity to describe the sad loss of Kasinauyo.
“Edzai was my teammate. I am saddened by his death. We have lost a good player and administrator in the history of Zimbabwe football.
“I want to thank all those who attended his funeral today (yesterday) and had it not been for the match definitely I was going to attend his burial. May his soul rest in peace” said a touched Mapeza.
