Mighty Warriors AWCON Qualifiers Squad Named
Mighty Warriors coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda announced a 31-member squad for the Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers against Namibia in April.
The Mighty Warriors will be away for the first leg on April 5 and the return will be played at Rufaro Stadium 3 days later.
Sibanda has retained the bulk of the players who won silver at the COSAFA Women’s Championship in September 2017 and also recalled the trio of Mavis Chirandu, Emmaculate Msipa and Felistas Muzongondi who did not take part in the regional tournament.
Players are expected to report to camp on March 19 with the exception of Rutendo Makore who was the hero for Spanish Feminina Side Sporting Huelva after scoring in a spirited 1-1 draw against Barcelona.
Makore will only join camp at the beginning of April as her Liga feminina club has a league match on April 1.
