Mhofu Not Satisfied…Wanted More
Warriors interim coach Sunday ' Mhofu' Chidzambwa was not satisfied with a 4-0 win against Mozambique in Zimbabwe’s opening COSAFA Castle Cup match, at Moruleng Stadium in South Africa.
The Warriors dominated the match with skipper Ovidy Karuru getting a brace and a goal each by Ocean Mushure and debutant Blessing Majarira but by the time Karuru opened the scoring in the 43rd minute Zimbabwe could have led by more than half dozen goals but the players were guilt of missing clear opportunities that came their way.
“I would have wanted more goals. We must have scored more considering the chances we created throughout the game, especially in the opening minutes," said Chidzambwa.
The Warriors coach also explained why be introduced more attackers Majarira, Raphael Manuvire and Michelle Katsvairo who replaced Knox Mutizwa, Talent Chawapihwa and Lee Mavunga respectively in the second half.
“When we are competing and scoring, it’s very positive. I wanted more goals despite carrying a healthy lead. It will come a time when goal difference matters."
Karuru, who scored a brace was voted man of the match.
Zimbabwe play Madagascar in their next assignment on Wednesday evening Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
