Mhlauri Applauds CAPS United Milestone
FORMER CAPS United Coach Charles Mhlauri has applauded the club for reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the first time in their 44 year history.
The Green Machine eliminated DRC giants and 5-times winners TP Mazembe after a goalless draw in the second leg to qualify on the away goal rule following their first leg’s one all draw in Lubumbashi.
For the second year running Mazembe failed to enter the CAF Champions League paid rank.
Speaking to the Herald from his base in the United States of America, Mhlauri who guided the club to back-to-back league titles in 2004 and 2005, saluted his former club on their finest hour.
“OMG! This is fantastic, let’s celebrate. The team’s commitment has paid off. This will surely count as the most amazing achievement to happen this year and years to come.
“Lloyd Chitembwe and his team have made a great achievement for the club and the country. This is a great team and you don’t need to decorate them their results speak volumes.
“Well done boys! This is a milestone,” wrote Mhlauri.
