HWANGE’S Gift Mbweti is our Sports Personality and he deserves the attention after he made it onto the 2016 Soccer Stars of the Year calendar on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Mbweti was one of the best forwards in the Castle Lager Premier League with nine goals to his name.

He was the second top scorer behind Golden Boot winner Leonard Tsipa who scored 11.

Mbweti’s future has become a subject of speculation with some reports linking him with a move to Bulawayo giants Highlanders in 2017.

The Chronicle reported last week that Bosso were already making a move for the talented striker while in Harare, fading giants Dynamos are also waiting in the wings.

DeMbare coach Lloyd Mutasa is an admirer of the Hwange bred player.

Mbweti received his first national team call up early this month and came on as a second half substitute when the Warriors played Zambia at the National Sports Stadium.
