Chapungu are sweating over the fitness of their chief striker Philip Marufu who is doubtful due to an ankle injury ahead of a crucial league tie against Dynamos at Ascot on Saturday.

"Marufu is a big doubt for this match because of a recurring injury. Chances are very high that he is going to miss the game because I don’t see him recovering by Saturday," said Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino.

The Chapungu coach also said he is sweating over the availability of a number of key players who includes Maxwell Mavuto, Nhlahla Ncube and Ngonidzashe Murisa. Despite the injury concerns, Nyikadzino is optimistic of posting a victory against the struggling former champions.

“We know what Dynamos are capable of doing especially when they are wounded like this. We are in a similar situation as them so we know how to react in such a situation.

“A plus for us in this match is that players motivate themselves when playing against a big club like Dynamos. They want to stand up and be counted by beating Dynamos," he said.
