Mapeza, Murape In Hot Soup
SHORT-TEMPERED FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza who is slowly losing the backing of fans in Zvishavane, following a poor run that has seen Pure Platinum Play drop from the top to number three on the log, has been summoned for a hearing by the Premier Soccer League.
Mapeza and controversial Dynamos assistant coach Murape Murape are being accused of committing acts of misconducts on separate occasions and will appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee in November.
The PSL accuse Mapeza of threatening match officials after a Castle Lager Premier Soccer match between FC Platinum and Harare City which the former lost 1-2 at Rufaro on October 8, 2016.
Mapeza is said to have contravened Order 31 of the PSL Rules and Regulations which makes it an act of misconduct of a player, official of a club who:
“Assaults, threatens, intimidates, coerces, interferes, misleads or insults a match official, player, official of the League, public, press or media, or any other person, before during or after the match.”
Mapeza will appear before the Disciplinary Committee at the PSL offices on November 1.
It never rains but pours for Murape, the Dynamos assistant coach who was also the subject of ridicule in a leaked audio tape featuring senior players that hit the headlines during the week.
Murape is accused of assaulting and threatening opponents and match officials.
He is said to have insulted and assaulted Caps United officials before the Harare Derby played at the National Sports Stadium on October 15.
Murape will appear for the hearing on November 8.
