Mapeza Craves For Another African Dance

THE thought of guiding FC Platinum in yet another African sojourn is motivating coach Norman Mapeza ahead of Saturday’s Chibuku Super Cup final against Ngezi Platinum Stars at the Baobab.

Winners of the Cup will represent Zimbabwe in next year’s CAF Confederations Cup tournament and Mapeza wants another taste of African soccer after leading the platinum miners in 2015.

“It’s a massive game for us were we need to put everything into it. The hardest part was to reach to reach the final,” said Mapeza.

“The boys have to go out there and enjoy the final having in mind that if we win the cup it gives us a chance to represent the country in the Confederations Cup.”

FC Platinum walloped holders Harare City 3-0 in the semi final to book their second final appearance in three years.

Pure Platinum Play are still in with a realistic chance of claiming a league and cup double as they trail league leaders Caps United by just two points with as many games left.

The Zvishavane miners will be without the duo of Soccer Star of the Year favorite Winston Mhango and the skilful Charles Sibanda who are still nursing the injuries sustained in a car accident which occurred soon after the semi final win.

The two have however resumed light training and will not be considered for the final.
