Mapeza Bullish Ahead Of Super Saturday

NORMAN MAPEZA thinks nothing will stop his side FC Platinum from clinching a historic league title as his boys have what it takes to brush aside Chapungu on Saturday.

Log leaders FC Platinum just need a win to become champions, regardless of what happens at the National Sports Stadium where second placed Dynamos host Chicken Inn on the same day.

Pure Platinum Play are also hoping to become the first club from outside Harare and Bulawayo to win the top flight title since St Paul’s Musami’s exploits in 1967.

Mapeza sounded bullish on Thursday afternoon and declared Saturday’s match as the club’s biggest encounter ever.

“I don’t think there is anything which will stop us from winning the championship, we just have to go there beat Chapungu and win the league title,” said Mapeza.

“This is a massive game for us as a club and I would like to thank the Almighty God for this journey, it wasn’t an easy journey at all.

“We have been working hard since the beginning so we just have to put everything in this game.

“We all pray to have better things in ourselves we will continue praying.”

A 1-0 win will be enough for Mapeza’s charges hence the championship winning coach with Monomotapa in 2008 will not put his boys under pressure.

“A 1-0 win will be good enough for us, the biggest priority is to win, it’s the last game of the season,” said Mapeza.

“The fans have gone through a lot, they have gone through a lot of pain, remember in 2011 the club came closest so this time we need to go there with a positive mind.”
