FC PLATINUM reclaimed pole position after dispatching Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba to extend their unbeaten run at Mandava to 26 matches on Saturday afternoon.
ZPC Kariba were the last team to beat FC Platinum last season but on Saturday they were switched off inside the first 45 minutes thanks to a Charles Sibanda brace and a Mkokheli Dube header.
It ended 3-0 in favour of FC Platinum who are now on 60 points, three clear of Ngezi Platinum Stars who play relegated Bantu Rovers on Sunday.
Sibanda opened the scores for FC Platinum after only six minutes before Dube added another in the 35th minute, heading home a Winston Mhango corner kick.
Sibanda made it 3-0 with a low free kick from outside the box two minutes before the breather.
Elsewhere, Yadah FC enhanced their chances of survival with a 2-0 victory over Bulawayo City at the National Sports.
Munyaradzi Chiwara opened the scores before Moses Demera sealed it from the spot towards the half time whistle.
Yadah FC are now on 37 points and five clear of Shabanie Mine who drew 1-1 against Black Rhinos at Morris Depot.
Shabanie Mine occupy the last relegation slot.
